Mexico has over 100 cities, each with its own identity and characteristics, and no two cities are alike. Some are over 500 years old, and some have been around for only a few decades. Most older cities have a traditional, colonial style architecture in their historic areas; while contemporary cities tend have a more global architecture and some areas can even be dressed to look like an American or European city.

Mexico is known worldwide for its beautiful beaches. Our country has beaches at the Pacific Ocean, Caribbean Sea, Gulf of México and Gulf of California. Most beaches will have a city with a resort area, so access, lodging, transportation and other services pose no problem for a production in the area. Virgin or rural beaches are a short drive distance from any coastal city.

Mexico has been the home of many different civilizations for more than 20,000 years. Pre-Columbian civilizations like the Aztecs, Mayan, Olmecs, Zapotec and Mixtecs were the main inhabitants in Mexico before the spaniards came in 1519. These civilizations were spread among center and south Mexico and some went all the way down to Central America. They all were dominant during different time periods, with the Olmecs as the oldest civilization and the Aztecs as the most recent.

Deserts are found in the northern part of Mexico. There are dune desert locations in Coahuila, Chihuahua, Baja and Sonora. These are popular spots for sandboarding and off-road enthusiasts. Some locations are in the middle of nowhere and all you can see around you is sand, while others are close or next to a beach.

Tropical Rain Forests or Jungles, cover most of the southern states in Mexico, like Veracruz, Chiapas, Mérida, Tabasco and Quintana Roo. In any of these states is easy to find a secluded spot in the middle of the jungle or a village or town surrounded by it. In the area you can also find mangroves, marshes, and savannas.
